RSS And Blogging

RSS is an acronym for Really Simple Syndication. This is great, but what is it? RSS is a service which can get quick summaries of items on news sites, sports sites, blogs and other things. It collects these all in one place

You need to create an RSS account somewhere. I'd recommend the Google Reader service. There are other places to get RSS, this is the one I'm experimenting with, and so I can most easily help you with it.

You'll have to register your asperand.org address, and then you can have access to NewsGator.

When you've got an account on Google Reader, add "feeds" from your favorite websites. Most news services, for example, have a sports area that offers a feed. TSN.ca, for example, has a feed while CTV Sports does not.

Your feeds don't have to be from sports sites. They can be from anywhere you like.

Once you've got your feeds established, this is what you're going to blog about. At least once per week, you are going to write a blog post of at least 150 words on any topic related to your feeds that you like. As always, your post needs to be in good taste. It should also have good grammar, and good style.

You need to do the blog every week. Regular, intelligent posts are easy to do and are easy marks, but you absolutely have to do them. You must post a minimum of once per week.
